FIRE RESISTANT FABRICS SPECIALLY DEVELOPED FOR EACH RISK

Heat and Flame

Fire is a mixture of incandescent gases and other particles coming from a violent oxidation chemical reaction. It is one of the most common and most dangerous risks in the industry, given that people generally work with gases, liquids, or dust that could ignite due to many different factors (extreme heat, sparks, short-circuit, etc.). If a proper fabric for protection is not used, these factors could lead to serious burns or even death.

Arc flash is a plasma explosion that originates when voltage drops in a non-conductive element, such as air.  When electric arc occurs, the temperature at any given zone may exceed 20.000 ºC within less than half a second. This, together with small molten metal projectiles (coming from the pieces of the facilities) and a shockwave, it means death if proper protection is not used. In fact, this violent explosion causes 3 deaths daily worldwide.

Metal Splashes

Workers must wear effective protection capable of resisting the impact of molten
metal splashes at high temperatures. In addition, when trying to protect workers, the viscosity of each metal during the manufacturing process must be considered. In the case of aluminum, the high level of viscosity reached at 700 °C may be extremely dangerous due to the ease with which it sticks to fabric, causing serious burns.
By using a range of specific molten metal splash protection fabric for different types of foundries (aluminum, steel or iron, zinc, glass, cement works, etc.), Marina Textil offers protection from large masses of molten metal, high temperature foci, electrical discharges and radiant heat. In addition, these fabrics may be made in high-visibility colors for monochrome areas.

Many industrial workers may come into contact with some sort of liquid chemical product. To protect from this risk, Marina Textil offers a special finish (FC) in some of its fabrics. The FC finish helps the fabric acid and oil repellancy in cases where the risk has been assessed as low and where users may act properly and in a timely manner once the clothing has been contaminated.

Welding Projections

The risks that derive from welding and cutting techniques are metal and spark impacts directly on a worker’s body at high speed and temperatures. Marina Textil fabrics offer high resistance, maximum durability and resistance to ultraviolet light. Certified according to EN 11611 class 1 and class 2, these fabrics provide workers with additional safety and comfort.

Adverse weather conditions are one of the most common risks in industries where workers carry out their duties outdoors. Marina Textil fabrics have been developed to offer protection from low temperatures and wind and also protection from fire, water, and cold.

High Visibility + Fire Resistant

High visibility fabrics are destined to make users visible in ligting in daylight and in the darkness so they can be deteected visually in risky situations. Workers can be seen short-distance. Marina Textil offers an extense range of high visibility technical fabrics with resistant, long-lasting colors, and with the chromatic coordinates established in standard regulation EN ISO 20471 for labor protection garments.
